Aegires sp. 4 (undesribed)

One of the prettiest of the members of this cryptobranch dorid genus, it is similar to Aegires villosus (Courtesy of Bill Rudman's Sea Slug Forum). It also has the largest rounded tubercles of any of the Indo-Pacific species. The main difference between this undescribed species and A. villosus is the black color rather than purple on the tubercles, gill branches and rhinophoral apices.

Known only from the Philippines, this species reaches about 15 mm in length, and feeds on calcareous sponges.
