Hypselodoris whitei (A. Adams & Reeve, 1850)

This species is one of several striped Hypselodorids and often mistaken for Hypselodoris maridadilus (Courtesy of Bill rudman's Sea Slug forum). See page 184 in your copy of NSSID 2nd edition for the description of both. As we can clearly see in Phil's photos, this species is whitish with a purple marginal band and five longitudinal purple lines, which do not connect in front of the rhinophores, like Hypselodoris maridadilus. Between the purple lines are a series of low pustules. The rhinophores and gill are bright red. Found throughout the Indo-Pacific.

Nice photos Phil.
