Herviella sp. 1 in NSSI (undescribed)
Well Mr. Cowdery thought he had stumbled across another new Tenellia (previously Cuthona), but sorry Dave this is Herviella sp. 1 (page 327 in NSSI). What is noteworthy is that Dave has two specimens from two distant localities - Aniloa, Philippines and Sangeang, Indonesia, adding to the known geographic range of this species.
The distinctive features of this species are the pale blue cerata with yellow medial bands and the black speckling all over the body. The distal half of the head tentacles and rhinophores are opaque white.
I wish I could tell you more about this species, but we really don't know much as only a couple specimens have ever been documented.
