Thuridilla lineolata was described in 1905 by Rudolf
Bergh from specimens collected in Indonesia. It was found
again in Indonesia by Pauline Fiene-Severns 90 years later.
The specimen shown here is one of several recently found in
Cebu, Philippines, where this species appears to be fairly
common. Also collected in the same area were Thuridilla
bayeri and T. kathae. The genus was recently reviewed in
the Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences (1995)
which included the descriptions of nine new species.
